Purpose
The British Transplantation Society Communications Committee is responsible for setting a communications strategy and overseeing communications internally within the Society and externally with partner organizations, the media and the public.
Role and responsibilities
• Developing a communications and media strategy and publishing on website
• Ensuring effective two-way communication between the executive, council, secretariat and the membership of the Society
• Developing and implementing an effective mechanism for dealing with media enquiries
• Identify and develop links with relevant partner organizations
• Developing and implementing an effective mechanism for responding to consultations
• Oversee content and development of website
Membership
• The committee will consist of the President, Vice-President, Web Manager, a co-opted member of Council and a member of the secretariat. Members may also be co-opted such as to recognise the broad representative balance of specialist interests of the society. The President will chair the committee.
• The committee will meet as required and report on its activities to the Executive and Council of the BTS through the chair. A written report should be produced for each meeting of Council, which should include activity for each of the ‘Roles and Responsibilities' as listed above.
These terms of reference shall be reviewed after three years.
