| An
annual Travelling Fellowship, up to the value of £5,000
is available by open competition to trainees in the field
of transplantation to enable them to broaden their education,
and to present and discuss their work overseas.
Candidates must be resident in the United
Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, and should be members
of the British Transplantation Society. Applicants may be
from a laboratory or clinical background. A full Curriculum
Vitae should be submitted, giving details of all past and
present appointments and publications, together with a detailed
account of the proposed programme of travel, costs involved
and objectives to be achieved. Shortlisted candidates
will be judged by a panel of experts and interviews may be
held. The adjudication process will pay particular
attention to originality, scope and feasibility of the proposed
journey.
After the visit, the winner will be asked
to report back to the Society, probably via the newsletter.
A critical appraisal of the Centres visited, together with
an assessment of how the experience will enhance future personal
and professional development, should form the basis of the
report.
Applications (10 copies) should be submitted
to the Secretariat by 29th February 2008 at 5pm
FAXED or e-mailed copies will not be accepted.
