The Medawar medal

In recognition of Peter Medawar the "father" of transplantation immunology, and founding Society chairman, the Society awards two prestigious medals at each annual congress to the young doctors/ scientists presenting the best clinical and scientific papers. The medals are awarded by competition following presentation in a specific session at the Society Congress. This year's winners are listed below. The medals were awarded to Dr Fadi Issa (Scientific) and Dr Matthew Welberry Smith (Clinical)
