The Transplant Library of Randomised Controlled Trials and Systematic Reviews aims to provide high quality, evidence-based information on all aspects of solid organ transplantation for the transplantation community. The library contains all randomised controlled trials in organ transplantation from 1970 to the present (over 7500 references). References mostly come from electronic databases such as MEDLINE and the Cochrane Library (with permission) but the library also contains over 3500 references to abstracts of RCTs in conference proceedings. Selected systematic reviews and meta-analyses of good quality have been added since 2008. For more information on the assessment of the methodological quality of RCTs and how systematic reviews and meta-analyses are selected,

Features of the Library include:
- A simple and intuitive search interface on the OvidSP platform, allowing rapid and comprehensive searches on focused topics without any professional search skills
- The search interface includes unique limits specific to organ transplantation to make searching even faster and more effective
- Studies published from 2004 onwards have been given a methodological quality rating which helps users assess their potential value
- The library is updated every two weeks, keeping users abreast of newly reported RCTs
The Transplant Library has been developed by the
Centre for Evidence in Transplantation (CET) and is a joint project between the CET and Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins/Ovid (Wolters Kluwer Health).
